Our team of teachers plays an important role in creating a nurturing and engaging environment for our children. 

At Petra Preschool, we...

  • ​Ensure quality education by using a learning model that emphasizes child-initiated exploration and teacher-guided instruction through Creative Curriculum® by Teaching Strategies.
  • Use a faith-informed approach that motivates staff to care and love the children and families we serve. Children and their families are not required to affiliate with Christianity or other religion.
  • Have 501(c)3 nonprofit status to meet a need for a quality early childhood education for foster and economically-disadvantaged families by increasing opportunities for subsidized child care.
  • Create a high-quality academic environment for families and children from all backgrounds.
  • Have a 2-Star TRS Provider certification through the Texas Rising Star Program and are working toward a 4-Star certification. ​
  • Admit students of any race, color, and national or ethnic origin. 

Available Teaching Positions

Full-Time and Part-Time Teaching Positions

Our teaching positions allow you to creatively develop and prepare an engaging environment with the structure of Teaching Strategies Creative Curriculum. We create opportunities for children to explore inside and outside of the classroom everyday!

Job Description: 
  • Provide opportunities for rich, conceptual development by utilizing Creative Curriculum concepts that actively engage children in the learning process, encourage independence, and allow them to make meaningful choices.
  • Continuously observe and assess children in their natural environment to scaffold teaching.
  • Nurture and maintain a culture of community among families and children.
  • Actively implement trauma-informed strategies, like TBRI, throughout the day to connect and support all children.
  • Create a friendly, welcoming learning environment where children feel safe, secure, and able to develop a sense of belonging and value.
  • Ensure safety and well-being of each child at all times while modeling Christian values.

Experience: ​
  • Early Childhood Education: 1 year (Preferred)
  • Childcare: 1 year (Preferred)​
